I’m Amy Owens, founder and chief designer of amo-ink. Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, I’ve always had an affinity for making things prettier, whether it’s a building or a brochure. After graduating from Ball State University with a degree in architecture, I spent a few years traveling the world and working in the field. While my experiences as an architect were compelling, they didn’t allow as much creative freedom as I’d hoped.

When I became engaged in 2002, I was frustrated by the lack of fresh, creative wedding invitations offered by local paper shops. To truly set my event apart, I realized my fiancée and I would have to create our own. During the process, I was thrilled to find the creative outlet I’d been missing. Friends began asking me to design their invitations, and soon my husband Paul and I found ourselves creating custom wedding stationery as a side business. In 2006, I made the life-changing decision to leave the field of architecture to launch amo-ink and indulge my creativity on a full-time basis.
